Taiwan

We have a great new page for Taiwan. Plenty of new photos, loads of endemics including new splits.

For the first time we have been able to use the Chinese language, we will be creating more pages is many languages giving WorldBirds a truly global appeal.

Short-tailed Albatross

A Short-tailed Albatross chick has successfully fledged on an island in the Hawaiian archipelago, marking the first time this endangered species has ever been known to breed successfully outside of Japan.

Saving the Spoon-billed Sandpiper from Extinction

An international team of conservationists is on an emergency mission to help save one of the world’s rarest birds from extinction. Spoon-billed Sandpiper Eurynorhynchus pygmeus is a remarkable bird, but its shocking drop in numbers indicates likely extinction within a decade if urgent action is not taken.
