Response to U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher (Trees are killing us)

Mahatma Gandhi said "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed" He was so right. Greed twists the mind to make people believe what they want to believe. Trees do cause global warming, but only if after they have been dead for millions of years and some fool digs them up and burns them.
Trees are a thermostat if it gets warmer they work harder to take more carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere but if it gets to warm they die and so will we. In Brazil they have destroyed so much rain forest but it's not enough, they need more land. We must stop these greedy people now. Tomorrow is to late.
My advice to Dana Rohrabacher (another quote) Sometimes it's better to keep quiet and have people think you are moronic than to open your mouth and prove it.
We need more trees or is it greedy to want an inhabitable planet for my grandchildren.
How did early man survive without Dana and his axe?

White Storks and some calous barbarians on Malta.

I have just received this e-mail from FocusingonWildlife.com if true it's a sad indictment on the thugs and the authorities of Malta.

Posted: 22 May 2011 02:38 AM PDT

The largest flock of White Storks ever recorded in Malta has been shot at from several different locations, as the birds sought overnight shelter in Malta. At least six of the 200-strong flock of storks were seen to be shot down, while another injured stork was recovered but had to be euthanized by a vet. Another two injured storks were recorded in flight with dangling legs and missing feathers.

People used to think bear baiting, fox hunting, and many other cruel sports justifiable. The authorities on Malta must enforce the law or expect condemnation from all civilised people.

How can people kill anything without a good reason. There is a lot more skill in getting a good shot with a camera and you get to keep and share the results. Nothing need die.

With every shot the world is a poorer place.

Tweet & Buzz what's that.

Tweet & buzz on a Bird web site, not suprising. There is now a Tweet button & a follow the Buzz button on the WorldBird web site.

Hong Kong

I've had a little excursion from Africa to give the Hong Kong checklist a little face lift. Two new slide shows are full of fantastic photos.
